Google Chrome Browser Tab Features
"Super" Tabs
Tabs were designed to be the primary user interface on Google Chrome and consequently, the things they can do are just marvelous.
Promote tabs into windows: Simply drag a tab off the tab bar like you would do when you want to drag and drop files. Release the tab after dragging it down away from the tab bar. The tab automatically becomes a new window. This allows you to easily create separate windows for browsing different content..
Move tabs between windows: Peel a tab off the tab bar of one window and drag it to the tab bar of another window. This allows you to group related tabs together in a separate window. After dragging a tab off the tab bar, you can return it if you wish by dragging it back to its former position.
Pin tabs: So you can move tabs around but what if you do not want a tab to be moved? Right-click on a tab and select Pin tab; this action moves the tab to the left-hand margin of the tab bar. The tab becomes small and unobtrusive and only its website icon (favicon) will be displayed.
To pin other tabs, follow the same procedure or simply move them to the left of an already pinned tab. To unpin a tab, carry out the same action for pinning a tab or move the tab to the right of an unpinned tab.
Duplicate tabs: Would you like to use a specific webpage in another window but want it to also remain in its current window? You do not have to type in the page URL all over again. Right-click on a tab and select Duplicate; this creates an identical tab. Drag the duplicate to its new position.
Resize tabs: Drag the tab you would like to resize off the tab bar. Use your mouse at the sides or edges to create the web page size you want. This is very useful when you want to compare two items on different web pages and do not want to switch back and forth between the two pages. You can display the resized tab while the other tab is open so that you see the items on both pages at the same time.
Related tabs stay together: On Google Chrome, tabs that are opened from a link in one tab open to the right of the current tab i.e. immediately next to the tab. This allows for all related items to be grouped together.
Closing tabs: You may have created a number of tabs from links in a particular tab and would now like to close all of them while leaving the primary tab open. Simply right-click the tab from which you created the other tabs and select Close tabs opened by this tab. Chrome also allows you to close all tabs to the right of a tab by right-clicking on a tab and selecting Close tabs to the right.
Forget the browser window buttons if you need to close a window with a single tab; just close the tab itself.
